An otherwise utilitarian storage facility is transformed into a refined, sensorial journey. Designed to be more than just your typical wine storage facility, KCellars offers 24-hour access for private collectors and a full suite of concierge-like services for wine connoisseurs and avid collectors. Be it when clients are accessing their private collection, hosting a private celebration, a corporate gathering, or just simply wanting to enjoy a bottle at the reception lounge, the multifaceted space has been designed poetically to fulfil all intentions.

Curating a symphony of experiences for different user groups - shoppers or wine enthusiasts

Nestled within a quiet warehouse district on the edge of town, is the Singapore flagship outlet for a wine storage company based in Hong Kong. Upon entering, guests are transported into a setting that draws inspiration from the charms of old European wineries with exquisite detailing to convey an understated touch of luxury. The cold room zone of the private storage cellars takes on an infusion of industrial materiality juxtaposed against a rich backdrop of rhythmic archways bathed in sensual mood lighting. The warm accent colours and materiality in this zone helps to imbue a psychological warmth into this otherwise super cold (temperature-wise) environment.

At the end of the long axial corridor, a hidden private event room awaits discovery. A dramatic curved ceiling in printed and pleated fabric folds into the backdrop of the wine display behind the bar. Pre and post-event gatherings can be hosted at the bar or at the lounge seating to the side of the main tasting table.

This project seeks to curate a symphony of experiences for its different user groups, sparing no effort to any detail. From the play of light and shadows, to the exquisite array of textures, materiality and even down to wayfinding elements, every design element is orchestrated to create a memorable experience and connection.
